Dr. Libby Houston

Dr. Libby Houston has been in the dental chair more times than she can count. Blame the sweet tooth, or blame the genetics, depending on who you ask. Either way, all those appointments taught her something: there is a real difference between a dentist who just does the work and one who actually makes you feel okay about being there. She decided she wanted to be the second kind.
A Nashville native and University of Michigan graduate, Dr. Houston joined the Upper Cumberland Family Dentistry team in Cookeville, where she focuses on building the kind of long-term relationships that make dental care less something you put off and more something you just take care of. Treating full families, watching kids grow up, knowing that someone's quality of life has genuinely improved because of the care they've received here: that's what she loves most about this work.
Her approach is individualized by nature. She meets patients where they are, moves at a pace that works for them, and works with them, not at them.
Outside the office, Dr. Houston takes adult ballet and yoga classes, is learning to play the piano, and spends a considerable amount of time with Sam, her five-year-old rescue goldendoodle. A Nashvillian who has also lived in St. Petersburg, Oxford, and Ann Arbor, she is both a proud Ole Miss and University of Michigan alumna. Hotty Toddy and Go Blue.
